Coming Around

I saw Nick last night and he was beginning to come around since they stopped his sedatives.

He is able to open his eyes slightly - which are red and swollen and probably sore. But it is good to seem them open just a bit.

He is able to hear you speak and nodded and shook his head in response to some questions.

He is beginning to cough a good bit now that he is more with it - which brings up some fluid occasionally - but its good to get that stuff out of there.

There are fewer machines monitoring him now as well - which is comforting to see.

His brother-in-law John played some voice recordings of Nick's niece and nephews for him to hear - since kids aren't allowed in the room - which was a good idea.

Hopefully he will continue to do better each day and fight each battle as it comes until he is healthy again.
